Kevralyn's Special Day....is coming up soon!

Today was just lovely....warm...breezy...a perfect Spring day!

You may already recognize the adorable Miss Kevralyn from my galleries...the sweet little freckles and the impish grin. Well next week she will be making her First Holy Communion so Mom wanted some traditional portraits to commemorate the special day.
We did some inside the Church and a few outside where the azaleas were in bloom.
I am so happy to be part of such a wonderful milestone. She truly looks like an angel!!!

Argentine Dogo...aka ZEUS!

Meet Zeus!....or for those of you who remember him sporting a Santa hat from my 'eclectic' gallery, here is the handsome boy as he looks today =)

Miss Olivia, the lovely little companion of Zeus is one of my original 'baby plan' clients. It has been a pure delight to photograph her and watch her grow and change into the little lady she's become.

Today's session was prompted by some serious news given to Olivia's/Zeus' parents....Zeus has been diagnosed with Liver cancer and his prognosis is uncertain. I wanted to capture some special moments including the whole family that will hopefully remain as keepsakes for many years to come.

If you are the praying kind, please keep Zeus and his family in your heart. He really is a special boy.

This has been a long time coming...i actually set up my Etsy account over a year ago and am finally making time to list some of my 'other' art work, after many requests from those who have seen some of it.
In addition to my portrait work, i also have a strong passion for photographing the flora and fauna that surrounds me...as well as the interesting subjects i find on my travels.
i will soon be listing some lovely fine art prints of the landscapes of Hydra, Greece, the majestic Wild Horses of the Outer Banks of North Carolina as well as various florals and butterflies, exotic sea life of the Tropics and more.
i will continually be adding to the listings and i am always open to custom work/suggestions!

As mentioned in my previous post, i won a ticket to see Pope Benedict celebrate Mass at Nationals Stadium in Washington DC yesterday.
These are just a few of the images, and were shot by me from quite a distance away.
i will remember my experience for the rest of my life.

Welcome!

Lisa Julia Photography would like to welcome Pope Benedict XVI as he visits the USA this week.
The studio/office will be closed on Thursday, April 17th as i will be attending the Mass at Nationals Stadium.
(okay i am trying to stay calm but i am completely STOKED)

A x 3 + B= BEAUTIFUL!

I photographed THE most beautiful children today! Three little girls with names all beginning with "A" and their handsome brother "B"...put them all together and you are in for some fun!!!
Today was one of the nicest days we have had in some time. It finally hit 70 around here and you could tell Spring was in the air.
Mom brought the whole gang to one of my favorite 'shooting' spots where the children were allowed to just be themselves and PLAY! Once we all got used to the 'blaring' sun, it was all good from there.
Mom is the owner of a wonderful Children's Boutique here in Occoquan: "Bambini's Boutique". You will find some wonderful clothing and toys there and it's right below my studio..so stop by and say 'hi' when you go!
Dad wasn't able to join us today because he is over in Iraq serving his country...so Dad, if you are reading, these are especially for *you*...and are being sent along with a heartfelt THANK YOU for your service. I can't begin to express what an honor it was to spend time with your family today. It is my hope that we made some wonderful memories during the session and that you will enjoy your sneak peek. Safe trip home. You are missed!

"Boutique Petite" Holy Communion Sessions

Spring is *almost* FINALLY upon us which means it is nearly time for you child's First Holy Communion.
In order to make sure you are able to have a portrait session to commemorate your child's special day, please reserve your date and time as soon as possible. I am ONLY offering Boutique Petite sessions (aka mini sessions) which will include the session fee as well as prints.

Sweet Savannah!

My it was chilly today!...but i warmed right up when i finally got to meet Sweet Savannah.
Mom and her 2 big brothers were at the studio less than 2 weeks before Savannah arrived.

I totally have a bit of a soft spot for this little beauty....we share the same birthday ;-)

New "Flash" Site Coming Soon!

Okay I confess to being a major procrastinator with this. I have had the 'concept' for a flash version of my website in my head since day one....but...I am no web designer so it was quite challenging for me to get the concept out of my head and into code...My current site is html but I always felt having a 'sister' site that was flash oriented would be a nice option for those with high speed internet connections.

Fast forward to just over a year ago, I emailed my ideas and concepts to a trusted colleague. She loved the idea and told me to 'go for it' and i have been working on things ever since...so after all this time, I am just about there!

I will still be keeping my current html site and look forward to adding the new site as well as a blog link to make it easy for you all to surf from one spot.

Here are a few screen shots for now =) I am so excited to share this with you! The cool vintage photo frames on the 'splash page' were designed by Jessica Dittmer....she totally rawks my socks....
and please pardon all my scratching out of my desktop SCHTUFF lol!
